Hiring Announcement: Full Time Police Officer

The Hillsdale Police Department will be accepting applications for the position of full-time Police Officer. 

Applications will be available at police headquarters, 380 Hillsdale Avenue, Hillsdale, New Jersey from October 18th, through Friday, October 27th.  All applications and related materials can be picked up or returned to the Hillsdale Police Department headquarters 24/7 and completed applications must be returned by 3:00 pm on Friday, November 3rd 2017.

All applicants must complete an application. Returned applications must be accompanied by the

  • Applicant’s cover letter
  • Detailed resume
  • Copy of PTC certificate or Class II certificate
  • Photocopy of the applicant’s valid New Jersey driver’s license

*Incomplete Applications Packets will not be considered*

To be eligible for the position, applicants must:

•                     Possess a New Jersey Police Training Commission (PTC) certificate for full-time municipal police officers or a

                      Special Class II certification

•                     Be a citizen of the State of New Jersey

•                     Be of good moral character

•                     Be at least eighteen (18) years old

•                     Possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or hold a GED

•                     Possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license

•                     Must not have been convicted of a crime or any offense involving dishonesty or which would make the person unfit to

                      perform the duties of a police officer
