The Boro of Hillsdale has several schools within the community. In order to facilitate communication between the schools and the Hillsdale Police Department, the HPD has assigned personnel to each of the Boro's schools to act as School Liaison Officers.
A School Liaison Officer is a police officer who acts as a contact person for the school administrators, faculty, staff, and students. This allows for increased presence in the school system and easier access to Police Officers and the Police Department.
Each of the School Liaison Officers are assigned to one school. These officers identify police-related issues within their school, establish/implement police-related programs for the students (e.g., D.A.R.E., Vandalism Education, safety programs), and offer an instant link between the HPD and the school system.
